CHICKEN BURRITOS

Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a pan and saute the onions over medium heat till they turn soft.
  • Add the garlic, oregano, cinnamon powder, ginger, chilli powder, clove powder, nutmeg powder and cumin powder and cook over medium heat for two minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Add the chicken, chicken stock, tomato paste, almond paste and salt and bring the mixture to a boil. Simmer over medium heat, uncovered, for ten minutes till the mixture thickens.
  • Add the hot and sour tomato sauce and mix.
  • Warm the tortillas in a slow oven. Fill each tortilla with three-fourth cup of the chicken mixture and roll up. Cut diagonally in half and serve with the yogurt.

 

INGREDIENTS

  • 500 grams chicken breasts, boiled and shredded
  • 8 whole wheat tortillas
  • 4 medium onions, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon clove powder
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg powder
  • 2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 400 ml Chicken Stock
  • 100 ml tomato paste
  • 4 tablespoons almond paste
  • Hot and sour tomato sauce to taste
  • Yogurt, as required
  • Salt to taste
  • 5 teaspoons Cooking oil
