GRILLED SQUID

Serves :

Preparation Time :
20 minutes

Cooking Time :
30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Rinse the squids and pat dry.
  • Set grilling pan over high heat until hot and then reduce heat to medium.
  • Add butter and spread evenly across the pan, then grill the squid until the outer skin is lightly seared but be careful not to let the squid dry up.
  • Flip and repeat the process until both sides are ready then remove.
  • Place on a cutting board and slice into bite-sized pieces. Arrange onto a serving plate.
  • Mix grated ginger with soybean sauce and mirin and stir together.
  • Scoop onto the grilled squid and sprinkle the shredded green onions.
  • Garnish with red chili pepper strips.

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 medium-sized squids
  • 200 grams grated fresh ginger
  • 5 tablespoon Japanese soybean sauce
  • 2 tablespoon mirin
  • 50 grams salted butter
  • 2 tablespoon shredded Japanese green onions
  • 2 red chilli pepper, cut into long strips
