WASABI PEAS

Preparation Method :

  • Soak the peas in water for 12 hours.
  • Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onion for 5 minutes over medium heat (stir it frequently).
  • Drain the peas and add it to the onion and cook for another 5 minutes longer.
  • Meanwhile, make wasabi paste by combining all the ingredients in a small bowl.
  • Add wasabi paste to the peas and gently stir it (evenly coating) or just shake the pan to keep the peas from breaking.
  • Reduce the heat to low, cover and cook for 10 -12 minutes.
  • Transfer to a serving bowl, and let it stand for 15 minutes so the flavours can develop.
  • Serve it warm.

INGREDIENTS

  • 300 grams whole peas
  • 2 onions (diced)
  • 4 tablespoons Cooking oil

Wasabi Coating

  • 8 teaspoons wasabi powder
  • 4 tablespoons tahini
  • 4 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 4 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
