Preparation Method :
- Extract coconut milk and keep it aside.
- Heat a kadai and add the sesame oil.
- When the oil is hot, add the cinnamon stick and cumin.
- When the flavour pops out, add the small onions and fry till the onion turns translucent.
- Add the green chillies, cumin powder,chilli powder, garlic , curry leaves,salt and tomatoes and fry till the water content on the tomato is dry and the oil separates out.
- Add the coconut milk and bring to boil.
- Add the coriander leaves and serve with idli, dosa,chapathi or rice.
INGREDIENTS
- 5 tablespoons of sesame oil
- 1 inch cinnamon stick
- ½ teaspoon cumin
- 100 grams of small onions, peeled and cut into thin slices
- 2 green chillies,slit length-wise
- 2 teaspoons of cumin powder
- 2 teaspoons red chilli powder
- 5 pods of garlic,peeled and cut into thin slices
- few curry leaves
- 500 grams of tomatoes,cut into small cubes or thin slices
- Salt to taste
- ½ coconut, grated
- 1 bunch of coriander leaves
