LOTUS ROOT WITH GRAM FLOUR

Preparation Method :
- Heat the oil in a large non-stick pan. Add the flour and stir constantly over a moderate heat to prevent it from burning.
- Make sure to break up any lumps. Cook for about 8-10 minutes over a low heat.
- Stir in all the remaining ingredients, add the lotus roots and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes, coating well in the spices. Adjust seasoning with salt.
- Stir in the cumin powder, garam masala and fresh coriander. Serve hot.
INGREDIENTS
- 500 grams, prepared lotus roots, cut on the slant into ¼ inch thick pieces, peeled, boiled and strained
- 1 tablespoon gram flour, sifted
- 2 tablespoon Cooking oil
- 2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 2 teaspoon dried mango powder
- ½ teaspoon carom seeds, pounded
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- ½ teaspoon garam masala
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoon chopped fresh coriander leaves and stalks
