SPICY PEAS WITH GINGER

Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a saucepan, add the cumin seeds and when sizzled add the ginger and green chillies; saute for a minute.
  • Add the coriander, cumin and salt with little water and stir.
  • When the water has evaporated, stir in the peas and when coated in the spices, cover and cook for about 10 minutes.
  • Stir in the dried mango powder and garam masala, adjust the seasoning and serve sprinkled with chopped coriander.

INGREDIENTS

  • 450 grams fresh green peas
  • 50 ml Cooking oil
  • 2 tablespoon fresh root ginger, peeled, finely chopped
  • 2 green chillies, whole but pierced
  • ½ teaspoon garam masala  
  • 2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt, to taste
  • Dried mango powder, to taste
  • Handful of fresh chopped coriander
