MAKHANI SAAG

Preparation Method :

  • Wash and chop the spinach finely and simmer for about 15 minutes. Drain all the water and squeeze in a strainer to remove excess water.
  • Heat the butter and oil together and fry the onion until soft. Then add all the remaining ingredients except green chillies. Lower the heat and stir-fry the mixture for about 10 seconds.
  • Mix in the spinach and continue to stir-fry for about 10 minutes or until the spinach darkens.
  • Garnish with chopped green chillies, and serve.

INGREDIENTS

  • 350 grams fresh spinach 
  • 75 grams butter
  • 1 tablespoon peanut oil
  • 2 onions, peeled and chopped 
  • 3 cloves
  • 3 cinnamon sticks 
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • ½ teaspoon ginger root, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 3 green chillies to garnish
