BUTTERLY MUSTARD LEAVES

Preparation Method :

  • Cook the fresh mustard leaves in a little water until soft, then drain. Set aside.
  • If you are using canned mustard leaves, drain any excess water.
  • Heat the oil and butter together then add the white cumin seeds and fry until they darken a shade.
  • Add the remaining spices and salt and finally add mustard leaves, fry for about 5 minutes until it turns darker, stir continuously.
  • Turn off the heat and let it stand for about 5 minutes. Serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 400 grams mustard leaves, fresh or canned 
  • 1 teaspoon peanut oil
  • ½ teaspoon white cumin seeds 
  • ½ teaspoon crushed garlic 
  • ½ teaspoon chilli powder 
  • 1 teaspoon salt 
  • 150 grams ghee or butter
