Preparation Method :
- Heat the oil drop in cumin seeds, cardamom and cinnamon stick, let them splutter.
- Add chopped chillies, garlic and bay leaf, stir-fry for 10 -20 seconds.
- Add chopped onion and sauté on medium heat for 5 minutes or till the onions are lightly browned.
- Add the cumin seeds , turmeric, chilli powder, garam masala, jaggery, salt, tomatoes and fry till the oil seperates.
- Add the drained brown beans. Mix well and add measured water. Bring it to boil, cover and cook on low heat for about 10 -15 minutes till the beans is completely cooked.
- Garnish it with chopped coriander and serve hot.
INGREDIENTS
- 150 grams brown beans, soaked for about 30 minutes
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1" stick cinnamon
- 3 brown cardamom
- 1 tablespoon,Tamarind pulp
- 2 teaspoon jaggery
- ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
- 1 green chilli
- ½ " piece ginger
- 1 onion - finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon Cooking oil
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- ½ teaspoon garam masala
- 1 tablespoon chopped coriander
