Preparation Method :
- Soak and pressure-cook thoor dal for 5 whistles.
- Grate coconut.
- Roast the chillies to a golden color and grind with masala to a coarse paste.
- Chop the yam into small square pieces.
- Pressure-cook yam adding salt, for a whistle. When it cools open lid and add the ground paste to the yam.
- Roast mustard seeds, add curry leaves to it and add to the mixture.
- Add cooked dal and masala paste. Stir over medium fire until well blended.
- Serve hot with rice.
INGREDIENTS
- 500 grams of yam
- 200 grams of thoor dal
- 1 teaspoon mustards seeds
- 1 teaspoon Cooking oil
- A few curry leaves
- Salt to taste
Masala
- 200 grams of coconut
- 2 tablespoon Jeera
- 4 Red chillies
