TOMATO WITH ONION SAMBHAR

Preparation Time :

Cooking Time :
20 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Soak dal and pressure-cook for 5 whistles.
  • Slit green chillies, chop ginger finely.
  • Chop tomatoes into small pieces.
  • Chop onions and coriander leaves finely.
  • Roast mustard seeds in oil; add a 50 ml of water, green chillies, turmeric powder, onions, tomatoes, ginger, asafoetida and salt.
  • Pressure-cook for a whistle.
  • Now add cooked dal and blend well with a ladle. Thicken, and add die lime juice;Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  • Serve hot with rava dosai.

INGREDIENTS

  • 150 grams Thoor dal
  • 450 grams Tomatoes
  • 250 grams Onions
  • 5 Green chillies
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger
  • 1 teaspoon Asafoetida powder
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 4 tablespoons Lime juice
  • 100 grams Coriander leaves
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 2 teaspoon Cooking oil
  • Salt to taste
