Preparation Method :
- Cut the okra into half inch pieces.
- Extract the Tamarind, juice.
- Heat oil and allow the mustard seeds to splutter.
- Add methi seeds and saute for 10 seconds before adding the okras.
- Stir, and add tamarind extract, sambhar powder, asafoetida powder, salt and curry leaves. Close lid and pressure-cook for 2 whistles.
- After it cools remove lid and boil for while till the kuzhambu gets thicken. Now add the sesame oil to the hot okra kuzhambu.
- Serve Hot.
INGREDIENTS
- 300 grams of okra
- 2 teaspoons of sambhar powder
- 1 teaspoon asafoetida
- Large lemon sized tamarind
- A few curry leaves
- ½ teaspoon mustard seeds
- 5 methi
- 1 teaspoon of Cooking oil
- 2 tablespoon sesame oil
- Salt to taste
