MALAI KOFTA WITH NUTS GRAVY

Preparation Method :

  • Preparation of Kofta
  • Mash the boiled potatoes, add green chilies, salt, pepper, bread crumbs and flour, mix it well.
  • Make balls and press it at the center to fill it with paneer and roll it again into round shaped balls.
  • Deep fry it until golden brown and remove from the oil and place it on the absorbent paper.
  • Preparation of Gravy
  • Place all the ingredients of paste in a grinder and churn it into a paste.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add jeera and paste, stir- fry it for 5 minutes.
  • Add kasturi methi, cream, salt, garam masala and pepper and mix it well. Add water and heat until the gravy thickens to required consistency.
  • While serving put two koftas in each bowl and top it with nutty gravy.
  • Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves.
  • Good to serve with naan or Laccha paratha.

INGREDIENTS

Gravy

  • 6 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried fenugreek leaves
  • 2 tablespoons of thick cream
  • A pinch garam masala
  • ½ teaspoon jeera
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Coriander for garnishing

Kofta

  • 5 boiled potatoes
  • 200 grams cottage cheese or paneer
  • ½ teaspoon chopped Green chillies
  • 2 teaspoons of all purpose flour or maida
  • Bread crumbs
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 200 ml Sesame oil for frying

For Paste (grind it together)

  • 2 Onions
  • 15 cloves of garlic
  • 200 grams cashew
  • 100 grams walnuts
  • Small piece of ginger
  • 4-6 whole pepper
  • 1 inch cinnamon stick
  • 1 or 2 laung
  • 1 green chillies
