MALABAR YAM AND BANANA CURRY

Preparation Method :

  • Chop yam into medium square pieces.
  • Chop ash gourd and banana in similar way.
  • Soak thoor dal in boiling water for 15 minutes and pressure-cook for 5 whistles.
  • Pressure-cook vegetables in boiling salt water; add turmeric powder, and pepper powder and cook for 1 whistle.
  • Open lid, add the dal and stir over fire for a couple of minutes.
  • Remove from gas; add coconut oil and curry leaves.
  • Serve hot with rice. 

INGREDIENTS

  • 250 gram of Yam
  • 250  gram of raw banana
  • 250  gram of ash gourd
  • 100 gram of thoor dal
  • 3 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 3teaspoon Pepper powder
  • 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
  • A few curry leaves
  • Salt to taste
