KERALA VEGETABLE GRAVY WITH METHI LEAVES

Preparation Time :

Preparation Method :

  • Grate coconut.
  • Fry urad dal and red chillies in half a teaspoon of oil and grind into a paste with jeera and coconut.
  • Soak thoor dal in hot water for 15 minutes and pressure-cook for 5 whistles.
  • Wash and chop methi or drumstick leaves.
  • Chop vegetables as mini cubes
  • Cook vegetables in pressure-pan for 1 whistle.
  • Heat oil and splutter the mustard seeds. Add curry leaves and mix with vegetables.
  • Add the masala and dal to the vegetables and stir over flame for 2 minutes.
  • Heat ½ teaspoon of oil and saute the methi leaves for a minute. Now add this to the Gravy and stir for a few minites.
  • serve hot with rice.

INGREDIENTS

  • 200 grams of methi leaves
  • 200 grams of Drumstick leaves
  • 300 grams of thoor dal

Masala 

  • 2 teaspoon of Urad dal
  • 4 Red chillies
  • 2 tablespoon of jeera
  • 200 grams of coconut
