DRIED BLACK GRAM DUMPLINGS IN YOGURT

Preparation Method :

  • Heat the ghee in a pan; add cumin seeds and stir over medium heat until they begin to splutter.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste; stir-fry for about half a minute. Remove the pan from the heat.
  • Stir-in the yogurt mixture and return to heat. Cook till specks of fat begin to appear on the surface.
  • Add 2-3 cups of water and adjust seasoning with salt; bring the mixture to the boil.
  • Add the black gram dumplings and continue to boil. Simmer to low flame, stir regularly, till the gravy is of thin sauce-like consistency.
  • Sprinkle fenugreek powder, stir and remove from heat. Adjust seasoning.
  • Garnish with green coriander, serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 250 grams Black gram dumplings
  • 2 tablespoon Ginger- Garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoon Ghee
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • A pinch Fenugreek powder
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh green coriander leaves, chopped

Whisked Yogurt Mixture

  • 150 grams Yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder
