Preparation Method :
- Heat the oil in a pan ,drop in the cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Then add salt,turmeric, garam masala, red chilli powder and coriander powder to the dal with measured water.
- Heat the remaining oil in a small pan. Add onions with chilli powder and sauté for 5 minutes or until the onions are lightly browned .
- Pour the baghar over the dal. Mix gently.
- Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot.
INGREDIENTS
- 150 grams split black gram - soaked for 20 minutes
- 1 tablespoon Cooking oil
- ½ teaspoon turmeric
- ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
- ½ teaspoon garam masala
- ½ teaspoon coriander powder
- ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
- Salt to taste

- 3 tablespoon Cooking oil
- 1 onion sliced finely
- ¼ teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1tablespoon chopped coriander
