SUKHI URAD DAL

Preparation Time :

Cooking Time :
45 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a pan ,drop in the cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  • Then add salt,turmeric, garam masala, red chilli powder and coriander powder to the dal with measured water.
  • Heat the remaining oil in a small pan. Add onions with chilli powder and sauté for 5 minutes or until the onions are lightly browned .
  • Pour the baghar over the dal. Mix gently.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 150 grams split black gram - soaked for 20 minutes
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds 
  • ½ teaspoon garam masala 
  • ½ teaspoon coriander powder
  • ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste 

Ingredients for Baghar

  • 3 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • 1 onion sliced finely
  • ¼ teaspoon red chilli powder 
  • 1tablespoon chopped coriander
