HOT SPLIT TOOVAR DHAL

Preparation Method :

  • Cook the lentils with all the ingredients except garlic, chillies and mango powder.
  • Adjust seasoning with salt and add hot water if needed.
  • Heat the oil in a non-stick saucepan. Add the garlic and sauté for about 10-20 seconds, then add the chillies.
  • Pour a few spoonfuls of the lentils into the pan, mix well and stir back into the curry along with the dried mango powder. Serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 90 grams split toovar dhal, picked over and washed
  • 500 ml cold water
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried mango powder
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • Crushed red chillies to taste
  • Salt to taste
