DHAL WITH FRIED SPICES

Preparation Method :
- Heat the oil in a large frying pan, stir-fry the cumin and mustard seeds for a minute.
- Add the garlic and stir-fry for 1 minute. Add the onion and stir-fry for 5 minutes more. Blend in the curry paste.
- When the mixture is smooth, remove the pan from the heat.
- Transfer dhal and the chickpeas to a warmed serving dish.
- Add in the fried mixture, adjust seasoning with salt to taste. Garnish with parsley sprigs and serve hot.
INGREDIENTS
- 150 grams onion, thinly sliced
- 150 grams red lentils, rinsed, soaked, drained and cooked
- 1 litre water
- 2 tablespoons Cooking oil
- 50 grams chickpeas, rinsed, soaked, drained and cooked
- 2 teaspoons white cumin seeds
- 2 teaspoons black mustard seeds
- 3-5 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon mild curry paste
- Salt, to taste
- Sprigs of parsley, to garnish
