BLACK EYED PEA CURRY

Preparation Method :
- Boil the black-eyed peas in a pressure cooker with turmeric powder, salt, asafoetida, and 3 cups water for 15-20 minutes.
- Heat the ghee in a wok or pan; add onions, garlic, ginger and dried red chillies. Saute till light brown.
- Add the tomatoes and the remaining ingredients. Fry till the tomatoes turn soft.
- Pour in the boiled black-eyed pea mixture with the water. Mix well. Serve hot.
INGREDIENTS
- 250 grams Black-eyed pea, washed, soaked, drained and boiled
- 100 grams Ghee
- 100 grams Tomatoes, chopped
- 75 grams Onions, chopped
- 1 tablespoon Ginger, chopped
- 2 teaspoon Garlic, chopped
- 1 teaspoon Garam masala
- ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
- ¼ teaspoon Asafoetida
- 3-4 Dried red chillies
- 2 teaspoon Coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon Coriander seeds
- 2 teaspoon Cumin powder
- Red chilli powder and salt, to taste
