BANANA CURRY IN TAMARIND

Preparation Method :
- Peel skin of banana, slit on both sides and chop into 1" thicknesss. Keep in a vessel with water.
- Extract tamarind juice after soaking in boiling water, or, if paste add ½ teaspoon.
- In a pressure-pan add tamarind extract, 100 ml of water, turmeric powder, salt, and the chopped vegetable.
- Pressure-cook for a whistle. Open remove lid, drain liquid and keep aside.
- Allow mustard seeds to splutter in oil, add urad dal and fry for 2 seconds. Now add the red chillies (halved), curry leaves, asafoetida powder and the cooked vegetable.
- Stir over fire for a minute and taste.
- Serve hot with any sambhar and rice.

- 500 grams of Bananas (raw)
- Tamarind 1 marble-sized
- 6 Red chillies
- Turmeric powder a pinch
- 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon Urad dal
- 2 teaspoon Asafoetida
- 2 tablespoon Cooking oil
- Salt to taste
