Preparation Method :
- Place an inverted colocasia leaf flat, spread the paste thinly over it, place another leaf on top and apply the paste again.
- Continue this process for remaining leaves. Tuck in the sides and roll tightly, secure with a string. Similarly, make more such rolls.
- Heat the oil in a pan; fry the rolls on all sides, then cover the pan with a lid containing some water.
- Simmer to low flame and cook for about 45-50 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove and keep aside to cool.
- To serve, cut the rolls into slices and shallow-fry. Serve with lemon wedges.
INGREDIENTS
- 25-30 Colocasia leaves, centre stems removed
- 60 grams Gram flour
- 100 grams Whole wheat flour
- 75 grams Rice flour
The Filling: Ground to Thick Paste
- 150 ml, Tamarind juice
- 6 Dried red chillies
- 100 ml Cooking oil
- 6 Green chillies
- 1 Garlic clove
- ¾ teaspoon Cumin seeds, roasted
- 1 teaspoon Coriander seeds, roasted
- 5-6 Cloves
- 1" Cinnamon stick
- ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 2 Bananas, mashed
- 2 tablespoon Fresh Green coriander leaves, chopped
- 2 tablespoon Jaggery
- Salt to taste
