TANDOORI POMFRET FISH

Preparation Method :

  • Clean Pomfrets and make a couple of deep horizontal slits on both sides of each Pomfret.
  • Combine all ingredients except oil, mix well and apply on Pomfrets and set aside to marinate for an hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 1800 C/ 3500 F/ Gas 4.
  • Thread each fish from mouth to tail onto skewers, and cook in the preheated oven or in a moderately hot tandoor for 10 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and suspend the skewers to 5-7 minutes to let excess moisture drip off.
  • Brush with oil and cook again for 5 minutes.
  • Serve hot with Mint Chutney, lime wedges and onion rings. 

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 pieces of Pomfrets
  • 50 grams drained plain Yoghurt
  • 3 tablespoons Heavy Cream
  • 4 teaspoons Ginger paste
  • 3 teaspoons Garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon Ajwain (Carom seeds)
  • 2 tablespoons Gram flour (Besan)
  • ½ teaspoon White Pepper powder
  • 2 teaspoons Red Chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons Cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoons Lime juice
  • Salt to taste
  • IDHAYAM Sesame Oil for brushing

To serve:

  • Mint Chutney
  • Onion rings
  • Lime wedges
