TANDOORI CHICKEN KEBAB

Preparation Method :

  • Rinse and pat dry the chicken pieces. Make two deep slits in the flesh of each piece, place in a dish and set aside.
  • Mix together the oil ,ginger, garlic, chili powder, turmeric, yogurt, garam masala, coriander, lemon juice, salt, red food coloring and beat so that all the ingredients are well combined.
  • Cover the chicken quarters with the spice mixture, cover and leave to marinate for about 2-3 hours.
  • Preheat the oven to 240°C/475 F Gas 9. Transfer the chicken pieces to an ovenproof dish.
  • Bake the chicken in the oven until the chicken is cooked right through and evenly browned on top.
  • Remove from the oven, transfer to a serving dish and garnish with the salad leaves and lime wedges.

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 chicken leg pieces, skinned
  • 200 ml natural (plain) low fat yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh root ginger
  • 1 teaspoon crushed garlic
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • ½  teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Few drops of red food coloring
  • 20 ml IDHAYAM sesame oil
  • Mixed salad leaves and lime wedges, to garnish
