SEMOLINA PILAFF (UPPUMA)

Preparation Method :
- Heat the oil in a small non-stick pan. Simmer to low flame and drop in the mustard seeds, peanuts and lentils.
- Stir for about 10-15 seconds and add the curry leaves. Adjust seasoning with salt.
- Add the water and chilli. Bring to the boil. Stir for another 20 seconds.
- Sprinkle in the semolina and stir constantly for about 3 minutes to stop any lumps forming.
- Leave undisturbed for about 1-2 minutes or until all the water has dried off.
- Stir in the lemon juice, fluff up with a fork and serve hot.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 teaspoon Cooking oil
- ½ teaspoon brown mustard seeds
- 2 tablespoon peanuts
- 1 teaspoon channa dhal
- Few fresh curry leaves
- 100 ml hot water
- Salt to taste
- 2 small, dried red chillies, crumbled
- 50 grams semolina(Rawa)
- Lemon juice, to taste
