HOT SPICY STEAMED RICE CAKE

Preparation Method :
- Coarsely grind the rice, dhal, red chilli, and peppercorn and keep aside.
- Now heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and allow it to splutter.
- Add hing, urad dal and saute it for a minute.
- Then add curry leaves, grated carrot and fry for 2-3 minutes.
- Now add 3 cup water, required salt and bring it to boil.
- Add the rice and dhal mixture slowly without forming lumps.
- Cover with lid and simmer it for 10 minutes to a thick consistency.
- Remove from flame and allow it to cool.
- Make small heart or round sized shapes out of the rice and dhal mixture and steam it in idli cooker for 10 minutes.
INGREDIENTS
- 200 grams raw rice
- 50 grams Toor dal
- 1 teaspoon Pepper corn
- 1" Ginger, finely chopped
- 2 Red chillies
- Pinch of Hing
- 2 tablespoon Cooking Oil
- 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon Urad dal
- One sprig Curry leaves
- Salt to taste
- 1 Carrot, grated
