Preparation Method :
- Cook the dal for about 15 - 20 minutes with salt, turmeric and water.
- Heat oil and add all the ingredients of the baghar. When the mustard seeds splutter, add the slit green chillies and the chopped vegetables. Fry for 5 minutes.
- Add the tamarind pulp, salt, turmeric and sambhar powder. Cover and simmer on a low heat till the vegetables are tender.
- Add the cooked dal and simmer for 5 minutes till everything blends.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Serve hot.

- 200 grams mixed vegetables
- 2 green chillies - slit lengthways
- 100 grams red gram
- 3 teaspoon sambhar powder
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon rice flour - optional
- 1 tablespoon tamarind pulp
- Salt to taste
- Sprigs of fresh coriander leaves for garnishing

- 2 tablespoon Cooking oil
- ½ teaspoon mustard seeds
- ¼ teaspoon asafoetida powder
- ¼ teaspoon fenugreek seeds
- ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 dry red chilli, a few curry leaves
