Preparation Method :
- Extract tamarind juice. Soak thoor dal for 15 minutes and cook in pressure pan for 5 whistles.
- Add tamarind extract and the full tomato, half of the curry leaves, asafoetida powder, sambhar and salt.
- Pressure-cook for a whistle. Take the remaining curry leaves, press it between fingers and add it to the rasam mixture.
- Mash the cooked tomato and add extra water. Cook the rasam at low temperature.
- Heat oil and allow mustard seeds to splutter. Add to the rasam. You may add a few chopped tomatoes. Cook tomato pieces until soft. Garnish with coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with rice or as soup.

- 2 teaspoon Sambhar powder
- 2 small-sized marble Tamarind
- 4 tablespoon Asafoetida
- 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon IDHAYAM Sesame oil

- Coriander leaves for garnishing
- Salt to taste
