Preparation Method :
- Heat the oil and add all the ingredients for tempering. When the mustard seeds splutter, add the green chillies and ginger and fry for a few seconds.
- Add the mashed potatoes, salt, turmeric powder and grated coconut. Mix well. Cook for a minute for the flavours to blend. Remove from heat.
- Mix in the lime juice. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve hot.
INGREDIENTS
- 500 grams potatoes, cooked, peeled and mashed
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 2 tablespoon grated fresh coconut
- 2 green chillies, slit lengthwise
- 1" inch piece ginger, chopped fine
- Salt to taste
- Juice of one lime
- A bunch of coriander leaves, chopped fine
Tempering
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon black gram dhal
- 1 teaspoon Bengal gram dhal
- 10 ml IDHAYAM sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 dry red chilli, halved
- ½ teaspoon asafoetida powder
- A few curry leaves
