Preparation Method :
- Wash rice and lentil together.
- Heat oil in a deep pan and add peppercorns and cumin seeds.
- When slightly brown add rice and lentil mixture and saute.
- Add ginger and salt and enough water to cook the rice and lentil on slow heat.
- Cover till nearly cooked. Garnish with ghee and serve hot with sambar.
INGREDIENTS
- 750 grams white rice
- 750 grams lentil, washed
- 2 teaspoon whole peppercorn
- 2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 inch ginger, finely chopped.
- Salt to taste
- 3 tablespoon ghee to garnish
- 5 teaspoon sesame oil
