Preparation Method :
- Cook the leaves, take care not to lose their green colour. Allow to stand for few minutes and blend.
- Mix the amaranth with the green gram dal and salt and reheat.
- Heat the ghee and add all the ingredients for tempering. When the mustard seeds splutter, add to the mashed amaranth.
- Serve hot with rice.
INGREDIENTS
- 50 grams green gram dhal , rinsed and cooked
- 2 bunches amaranth leaves, cleaned, rinsed and chopped
- Salt to taste
Tempering
- 1 tablespoon ghee
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon black gram dal
- 1 dry red chilli, halved
- ½ teaspoon asafoetida powder
