Preparation Method :
- Roast Semolina in oil in a deep pan on medium heat. Till rava turns light brown. Remove keep aside.
- Heat the remaining oil in the same pan. Splutter mustard seeds and urad dhal.
- Sauté the sliced onions till translucent. Add ginger then chopped tomatoes, chillies and continue to stir-fry on medium heat.
- Add vegetables and pour 5 cups of water and salt. Let the vegetables get half cooked with the lid on.
- Open and mix in the fried semolina, little by little, stirring with a spatula, continuously.
- Keep on stirring till semolina gets cooked to the right consistency making it look light and fluffy.
- Remove from heat and garnish with curry leaves and dry chilly.
INGREDIENTS
- 500 grams Semolina
- 2 onions, sliced
- 300 grams diced vegetables
- 1 teaspoon urad dhal
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 5 green chillies split lengthwise
- 2 medium sized tomato roughly cut into 8 pieces.
- 1 teaspoon finely chopped ginger
- 5 pinches of turmeric powder
- Curry leaves and dry chilly to garnish
- Sesame Oil
- Salt to taste
