RICE IDLI (IDLI)

Preparation Method :

  • Soak the parboiled rice and black gram dal separately for about 3 hours.
  • Grind the soaked dal to a fine batter.
  • Grind the rice into a batter, a little coarser than the dal.
  • Mix the dal and rice batters, add the salt and set aside to ferment for about 6 - 8 hours.
  • Steam in greased idli moulds in a pressure cooker without the weight at least for 10 - 15 minutes.
  • Serve hot with coconut chutney and small onion sambar.

INGREDIENTS

  • 300 grams parboiled rice
  • 75 grams black gram dal
  • Salt to taste
