POPCORN PATTIES

Preparation Method :

  • Soak popcorn in enough water for some time. Drain, squeeze out all water gently.
  • Mix the chillies, popcorn, coriander leaves, onions, ground nuts, gram flour, red chilli powder, carom seeds and salt.
  • Sprinkle some water if required, to bind the mixture. Divide into 9-10 equal portions and shape each into patty.
  • Shallow fry the patties in Sesame oil until turn to crisp and golden.
  • To Make the Mint Chutney:
  • Soak amchur in water. Grind mint leaves, green chillies, coriander leaves, salt and soaked amchur to a fine paste. Add grated coconut and blend again to a smooth paste.
  • To Serve: Mix the Masala for the Garnish and sprinkle over the Patties. Sprinkle the lemon juice. Serve with Salad and Chutney.

INGREDIENTS

  • 800 grams Popcorn
  • 2 tablespoon Green Chillies, chopped
  • 100 grams Coriander leaves, chopped
  • 50 grams Groundnut, crushed
  • 4 tablespoon Gram Flour
  • 2 tablespoon Onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chilli powder
  • ½ teaspoon Carom seeds
  • 100 ml IDHAYAM Sesame Oil
  • Salt to taste

For the Garnish

  • 1 tablespoon Kasoori Methi
  • 1 teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 2 teaspoon Lemon Juice
  • ¼ teaspoon Black Pepper powder

For the Mint Chutney

  • 200 grams Fresh Mint leaves
  • 200 grams Coriander leaves
  • 100 grams Coconut grated
  • 1 teaspoon Amchur
  • 2 No.s Green Chillies
