Preparation Method :
- Steam the fish with ½ teaspoon salt, turmeric powder with the ½ cup water for 5-7 minutes. Drain and mash well.
- Add Mashed Potatoes, Chopped Onions, Ginger, garlic, Chillies, Coriander Leaves, lemon juice, Beaten eggs and oil. Blend well. Adjust seasoning.
- On a flat surface, shape small quantities of the mixture into flat round / oval cakes or oblong croquettes. Roll in breadcrumbs / semolina and shallow fry the cakes / croquettes till golden.
- Serve hot with a spicy tomato sauce.
INGREDIENTS
- 500 grams Fish, (pomfret / seer / salmon), boneless, washed
- ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 200 grams Medium sized Potatoes, , boiled and mashed
- 2 Medium sized Onions minced
- 1 teaspoon Ginger minced
- 6 cloves Garlic minced
- 2-3 Green chillies, minced
- 2 tablespoons of finely chopped Green coriander
- 2 tablespoons Lemon juice
- Salt to taste
- ¼ teaspoon Black pepper (kali mirch) powder
- 2 Eggs, beaten
- 200 grams Breadcrumbs or semolina (suji)
- Cooking oil for shallow frying
