ONION, MANGO, AND PEANUT CHAAT
                            This chaat is a good evening snack that can be prepared within no time.

Preparation Method :
- To make the chaat masala, grind all the spices together, then season with 2.5 ml / ½ teaspoon each salt and pepper.
- Fry the peanuts in the oil until lightly browned, then drain on kitchen paper until cool.
- Mix the onion, cucumber, mango, chilli, fresh coriander, and mint in a bowl. Sprinkle in 5 ml / 1 teaspoon of the chaat masala.
- Stir in the peanuts and then add limejuice and/or sugar to taste.
- Set the mixture aside for 20 - 30 minutes for the flavours to mature.
- Spoon the mixture into a serving bowl, sprinkle another 5 ml / 1 teaspoon of the chaat masala over, and serve.
INGREDIENTS
- 90 grams unsalted peanuts
- 1 tablespoon Cooking oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- ½ cucumber, seeded and diced
- 1 mango, peeled, stoned (pitted) and diced
- 1 fresh green chilli, seeded and chopped
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander (cilantro)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- Pinch of light muscovado (brown) sugar
- For the chaat masala
- 2 teaspoons ground toasted cumin seeds
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon mango powder (amchur)
- ½ teaspoon garam masala
- A pinch of ground asafoetida
- Salt and ground black pepper
