MYSORE BONDA

Makes :
15 Bondas

Preparation Time :
30 minutes

Cooking Time :
30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Soak the black gram dal in 2 cups of water for hours. Drain well.
  • Grind the black gram dal to a smooth batter. Add the salt, peppercorns, asafoetida powder, curry leaves and chopped coconut.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan. Shape the batter into golf balls and drop gently into the oil. Fry till golden.
  • Drain on kitchen paper. Serve hot with coconut chutney.

INGREDIENTS

  • 150 grams black gram dal
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • ½ teaspoon asafoetida powder
  • A few curry leaves
  • 25 grams thinly chopped fresh coconut
  • Cooking oil for frying
  • Salt to taste
