                    Preparation Method :
- Mix all the ingredients except onion in a bowl.
 - Gradually add the water to make a smooth, thick batter and keep it aside.
 - Heat the peanut oil in a deep- frying pan.
 - Dip the onion circle in the batter and make sure that the batter coats on to both the sides of the onion and deep fry.
 - Dip the onions one by one and deep fry six pieces at a time over medium heat.
 - When it is golden brown, take it out from the oil and place it on a kitchen towel to drain the excess oil.
 - Serve hot with coconut or mint chutney.
 - The same preparation method can be followed by replacing the onions with potato or green plantain or aubergine.
 - Serve Immediately.
 
INGREDIENTS
- 300 grams of gram flour
 - 75 grams of rice flour
 - ½ teaspoon of baking soda
 - ½ teaspoon of asafoetida powder
 - 1teaspoon of red chili powder
 - 1 pinch of red food colour
 - Salt as desired
 - 3 onion, peeled and finely sliced in circles
 - IDHAYAM MANTRA Peanut Oil for deep-frying
