Preparation Method :
- Tie the drained green gram in a muslin cloth. Keep it inside a vessel in a cool place and cover it tightly. Allow the green gram to sprout.
- Heat the oil in a pan; add mustard seeds when they crackle, add asafoetida and sprouted green gram.
- Add water, soda bicarbonate with salt, sugar and the spices. Mix well. Cook covered for 10-15 minutes or until tender.
- Serve hot with stuffed bread.
INGREDIENTS
- 250 grams whole green gram, soaked and drained
- ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- ½ teaspoon mustard seeds
- ¼ teaspoon asafoetida
- 1½ teaspoon Cooking oil
- 200 ml water
- ¼ teaspoon soda bicarbonate
- ¼ teaspoon sugar
- ½ teaspoon cuminpowder
- ½ teaspoon coriander powder
