SPROUTED GREEN GRAM SALAD

Preparation Time :
15 minutes

Cooking Time :
20 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Tie the drained green gram in a muslin cloth. Keep it inside a vessel in a cool place and cover it tightly. Allow the green gram to sprout.
  • Heat the oil in a pan; add mustard seeds when they crackle, add asafoetida and sprouted green gram.
  • Add water, soda bicarbonate with salt, sugar and the spices. Mix well. Cook covered for 10-15 minutes or until tender.
  • Serve hot with stuffed bread.

INGREDIENTS

  • 250 grams whole green gram, soaked and drained
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • ½ teaspoon mustard seeds
  • ¼ teaspoon asafoetida
  • 1½ teaspoon Cooking oil
  • 200 ml water
  • ¼ teaspoon soda bicarbonate
  • ¼ teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon cuminpowder
  • ½ teaspoon coriander powder
