MOONG DHAL SALAD

Preparation Time :
70 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Soak the moong dhal in water for an hour.
  • Then, drain the water and add the coconut, the carrot, the cucumber, the onion and the roasted groundnut and mix well.
  • Now add the lime jice and salt and mix.
  • Heat up the sesame oil in a frying pan and when the oil is hot , add the mustard seeds.
  • When the mustard seeds start spluttering, add the urad dhal and curry leaves and fry till golden brown.
  • Add the hot seasoning to the salad and garnish with coriander leaves.

INGREDIENTS

  • 100 grams of moong dhal
  • ½ coconut, grated
  • 1 carrot, shredded
  • 1 cucumber, finely chopped
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 4 teaspoons of roasted groundnut, skin removed
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of urad dhal
  • 3 curry leaves
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
