Preparation Method :
- Heat 3 tablespoon ghee. Add bay leaves, cinnamon, cardamoms and cloves. Wait for a minute till fragrant.
- Drain dal and add to the ghee. Fry for 3 minutes on high heat, stirring continuously.
- Drain and add rice and fry some more, if it sticks put in a little more ghee. Add ginger.
- Add hot water. Add salt and sugar; a few green chillies may also be added. Bring to a boil.
- Cover and simmer on low heat for 15 minutes till dry. Remove from heat. Serve.
INGREDIENTS
- 200 grams channa dal- soak for 30 minutes
- 200 grams rice- soak for 10 minutes
- 1" piece ginger-grated
- 2 bay leaves
- 2" piece cinnamon
- 6 green cardamoms
- 6 cloves
- 1 ½ teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoon ghee
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 3 green chillies
