PULIYODARI MIX

Preparation Method :

  • Soak tamarind in water. Extract the tamarind juice.
  • Heat a pan and dry fry fenugreek seeds, and curry leaves and keep aside. Pour one teaspoon of sesame oil in a pan and fry the red chillies.
  • Grind it to powder (dry) along with the above fried ingredients.
  • Heat Idhayam sesame oil and add the mustard seeds. When the mustard starts to splutter add the brown channa, fry till turns to golden brown colour, add sesame seeds.
  • Now add turmeric powder, Asafoetida and curry leaves and fry once. Add the tamarind juice and the salt.
  • Let the mixture boil till the raw smell of the tamarind disappears. Now add the ground powder to the mixture and cook on a low flame till it is thick.
  • Remove from flame and serve.

INGREDIENTS

  • 300 grams Tamarind
  • 1 Teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • A few Curry leaves
  • ½ teaspoon Fenugreek seeds
  • 15 Red chillies
  • 3 tablespoon IDHAYAM Sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Channa dal
  • 1 teaspoon brown chana
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Asafoetida
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame seeds (White)
