Preparation Method :
- Cook rice make sure that each grain of the cooked rice is separate.
- Chop onions, tomatoes, brinjal & coriander leaves finely.
- Slit green chilly.
- Soak tamarind in hot water and extract juice.
- Heat the oil and allow mustard seeds to splutter; add curry leaves, green chilly, turmeric powder, brinjal, tomatoes and onions. Stir well and close lid. After 5 minutes stir once more before adding salt and pitlai powder. Now add tamarind extract and garnish with coriander leaves. Mix with rice.
- Serve with onion raita.

- 300 grams of rice
- 300 grams of brinjal
- 300 grams of onions
- 500 grams of tomatoes
- 2 medium-marble sized tamarind
- A few of curry leaves
- 2 of green chilly
- 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
- 5 tablespoons of pitlai powder
- 1 teaspoon of mustard seeds
- 6 tablespoon of Cooking oil
- Coriander leaves for garnishing
- Salt to taste
