COCONUT PULAO

Serves :

Preparation Time :
20 minutes

Cooking Time :
25 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Blend the coconut with 2 cups of warm water to extract 2 cups of coconut milk. Keep aside.
  • Heat the ghee in a pan; saute the onion, cloves, cinnamon sticks, and green cardamoms for approximately 3 minutes.
  • Add the rice and stir-fry for 1 minute. Add the turmeric powder, sugar, salt, and the coconut milk. Stir well. Bring the mixture to the boil, lower heat, cover and simmer till the rice is cooked.
  • Garnish with fried onion, cashew nuts, and raisins and Serve.

INGREDIENTS

  • Rice, long-grained, washed
  • Coconut grated
  • Ghee
  • 1 medium Sized Onion finely sliced
  • 4 Cloves (laung)
  • 3 Cinnamon 1" sticks
  • 3 cardamoms
  • ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Sugar
  • 2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 Onion, medium, thinly sliced, fried
  • 10 Fried Cashew nuts
  • 20 grams Raisins fried on Ghee
