ALOO AUR TAMATER KA PULAO

Preparation Method :
- Mix in the chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala with a little salt and water and make a paste.
- Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan. Fry the onions till golden, add the potatoes and fry for about 5 minutes.
- Then add the tomatoes and fry for further 2 minutes. Add in the paste stir for a minute and add in the rice.
- Stir-fry for 1 minute, then add in water about 1 inch above the surface of rice.
- When the water starts to boil, cover and cook on medium flame for about 2 minutes.
- Reduce to low flame for about 10 minutes or until the rice and potatoes are done. Serve hot.
INGREDIENTS
- 150 grams onions, sliced
- 150 grams tomatoes, chopped
- 350 grams long grain rice, Rinsed, soaked and drained
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- ½ teaspoon cumin powder
- ½ teaspoon garam masala
- 150 grams potatoes, cut into medium pieces
- 50 ml Cooking oil
- Salt, to taste
