PRAWNS WITH BABY ONIONS

Serves :

Preparation Time :
15 minutes

Cooking Time :
30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Heat the oil in a pan and add the cumin seeds. When they begin to change colour, stir in the onions and saute until they turn golden.
  • Add the ginger and garlic, saute for 1 minute, then stir in the green chillies, turmeric, ground coriander and salt.
  • Saute briefly before adding the shallots, tomatoes and half the coriander leaves. Saute for minutes.
  • Add water and cook for a further 2 minutes, then stir in the prawns. Cook, uncovered, for 5 minutes or until the prawns are almost done.
  • Add the yogurt, garam masala and remaining coriander leaves. Simmer for 5 minutes and serve.

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 tablespoons IDHAYAM sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 4 large onions, chopped
  • 2 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 6 green chillies, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon ground coriander
  • 20 onions
  • 4 medium-sized tomatoes, quartered
  • 6 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
  • 20 medium-size prawns, shelled and deveined
  • 5 tablespoons natural low-fat yogurt
  • 2 teaspoon garam masala powder
