KING PRAWN BHOONA

Serves :

Preparation Time :
25 minutes

Cooking Time :
20 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Mix the paprika, ginger, yogurt, and salt to taste. Pour this mixture over the prawns and leave to marinate for 15-20 minutes.
  • Heat the oil in a wok or heavy pan and fry the onions with the fennel seeds and a piece of cinnamon stick.
  • Lower the heat and then add garlic and chili powder, Stir over until well mixed.
  • Add the peppers and stir fry gently for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from the heat and transfer to a warm serving dish, discard the cinnamon.
  • Preheat the grill to medium. Put the prawns in a grill pan or flame-proof dish and place under the heat to get a char grilled effect.
  • Add to the onion mixture, garnish with the coriander and serve.

INGREDIENTS

  • 50 grams natural (plain) low fat yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh root ginger
  • 14  frozen cooked king prawns (jumbo shrimp), thawed and peeled
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • 3 medium onions, sliced
  • ½  teaspoon fennel seeds, crushed
  • 1 piece cinnamon stick
  • 1 teaspoon crushed garlic
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 medium yellow (bell) pepper, seeded and roughly chopped
  • 1 medium red (bell) pepper, seeded and roughly chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh coriander (cilantro) leaves, to garnish
  • Salt
