NALLI NIKARI

Preparation Method :

  • Combine onion, ginger-garlic paste, green chili paste, tomato puree in a blender and grind to a smooth paste.
  • Apply the ground paste over the meat in a bowl and marinate it for an hour.
  • Then add the remaining ingredients to the marinated meat and mix well and leave it for 20 more minutes.
  • In a heavy-bottomed pan, add the marinated meat in sufficient water and cook with a covered lid until the meat becomes tender. Add water at regular intervals whenever required.
  • Serve hot with crusty bread, naan or parathas.

INGREDIENTS

  • 750 grams Lamb shanks (leg pieces)
  • 2 large Onions, chopped
  • 1 ½ tablespoon Ginger-Garlic paste
  • 150 ml Tomato puree
  • 1 ½ teaspoon Green Chili paste
  • 2 tablespoons IDHAYAM Sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoon Red Chili powder
  • 6 cloves Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds (Zeera)
  • 6 Cloves
  • 2 medium Bay leaves
  • 2-inch Cinnamon sticks
  • 4 Green Cardamoms
  • 1 Black Cardamom
  • Salt to taste
