Preparation Method :
- Heat the oil in a Balti pan, wok or large frying pan over a medium heat.
- Add the onion, garlic, fenugreek seeds and cumin seeds and fry, stirring, for about 10 minutes until golden.
- Add the meat and cook for 5 minutes.
- Stir in the tomatoes and Balti sauce and simmer for a further 10 minutes.
- Add the lentils, sugar, lemon juice and garam masala, and chilli powder and salt to taste. Simmer for about 15 minutes.
- Stir in the coriander and serve.
INGREDIENTS
- 450 grams cooked meat
- 250 grams red lentils, pre-cooked
- 50 ml sesame oil
- 2 large onion, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2 teaspoon fenugreek seeds
- 2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 300 grams chopped tomatoes in natural juice
- 400 ml Balti sauce
- 2 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 tablespoon Balti garam masala
- Salt and chilli powder to taste
- 2 tablespoon fresh coriander, finely chopped
