Preparation Method :
- Boil the tomatoes and allow it to cool.
- Remove the skin on the tomatoes and make it as a puree on a blender or a mixer.
- Season the fish with salt.
- Heat the cooking oil in a shallow frying pan and fry the seasoned fish and set aside.
- Heat a Katari , add five teaspoons of cooking oil.
- When the oil is hot,add the fenugreek seeds and fry , followed by adding tomato puree and fry for 2-3 minutes.
- Add chopped chillies, ginger-garlic paste to it and fry for 2-3 minutes or until the raw smell disappears.
- Add half a cup of water andd bring to boil.
- Now, add the catla fishes to it and simmer till the fish becomes tender and well cooked.
- Add the sugar and finally add the chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with rice.

- 500 gramsof tomatoes
- 4 teaspoons of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of garlic and ginger paste
- 8-10 chopped green chillies
- 4 tablespoons of fenugreek seeds
- 50 ml of cooking oil
- Chopped coriander leaves
- Salt to taste
